3. Connecting Google Ads
Three values copied in once, because Google only opens its API to a Manager account.
Once connected, your Google Ads spend, clicks and conversions appear beside Meta and TikTok in Campaigns. It is the one advertising connection that is not a single authorization: Google's API is reachable only through a Google Ads Manager account you own, so it asks for three values you copy in once. Budget about fifteen minutes, once.
What you need first
- Your Google account connected here — connect YouTube on Channels, in the Social panel, using the Google account that manages these campaigns. The reporting reuses that same connection, so there is no second sign-in; without it the section stays empty whatever you paste below.
- A Google Ads Manager (MCC) account with API access — this is what issues the developer token.
1 · Create the Manager account
Skip this if you already manage your ads from one. Otherwise create it at ads.google.com → Manager accounts. A Manager account, also called MCC, sits above your ad account and is what Google requires before granting API access. Then link the account that runs your campaigns to it: Accounts → +.
2 · Ask for API access
In the Manager account, go to Admin → API Center, accept the terms, and a developer token is issued. A fresh token only reaches test accounts — request Basic access on the same page so it can read your live campaigns. Approval is usually quick.
3 · Find the three values
- Customer ID — the ten digits (123-456-7890) of the ad account running the campaigns, top right while you are inside it.
- Developer token — from Admin → API Center in the Manager account.
- Login customer ID — the ten digits of the Manager account itself. Leave it empty only if the ad account is not under a manager; when it is, Google refuses the request without it.
4 · Paste them in
Open Channels → Ads → Google Ads → Configure, fill the three fields and press Save. The developer token is stored encrypted and never shown again — the field then reads as stored, and typing into it is how you replace it. The row afterwards shows the customer ID with Edit beside it, and Remove inside the dialog drops the connection.
